The position will start as soon as June 1, 2024.
This position provides leadership, planning, and administration of the Hiram College library programs and services in support of teaching and learning at Hiram.
The Library Director will provide strategic vision and leadership for the library, faculty, and staff.
The incumbent will develop library initiatives that enhance student learning in traditional undergraduate, adult, and graduate programs.
They will foster forward-looking collection development plans and integrate appropriate technologies into library services, as well as nurture an organizational culture of collegiality and service within the library and on campus.
The incumbent will collaborate with the Development Office and Friends of the Library, maintaining and expanding relationships with donors to support and enhance the mission of the library.
The director will coordinate with other programs housed in the library, including Student Services, Hiram Connect, the Media Center, and Learning Technologies.
Reporting to the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of the College, the Director will lead all aspects of library administration including long-term planning, budget development and control, outreach, personnel selection and supervision, facilities management, and ongoing assessment of library resources.
The Director will serve on campus committees and act as the library's liaison to senior college administrators.
The Director will also maintain currency with issues and trends in professional librarianship through participation in local, state, regional, and national associations.
A Master of Library Science or equivalent degree from an accredited institution is required.
Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse community, and evidence of success in the development and maintenance of collaborative community relationships is required.
Experience in library leadership including supervision of employees is required; five or more years' experience or experience in an academic, research, or university library is preferred.
The incumbent must show a strong understanding of new and developing trends in academic libraries.
Experience with technologies such as Sierra or Alma, LibGuides, and Ohiolink is preferred.
Experience with library instruction and information literacy is preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
