Electrical Controls Engineers at SDC are collaborative, detail-oriented individuals, with at least 5
years of electrical controls engineering experience, that are responsible for developing and programming complete solutions for automated equipment according to customer and internal specifications.
As our machines are becoming more advanced, our need for additional Sr.
Electrical Controls Engineers is growing.
We are looking to add experienced individuals with strong programming and electrical design capabilities.
Every machine and project have different requirements therefore, this position is fast-paced and requires strong communication, problem solving and decision-making skills.
Essential Functions:
Design and develop innovative and advanced software and machine controls programs, including:
- Electrical and Control system design - PLC programming - Design/programming of Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) - Robotic Programming - Troubleshooting of electrical, PLC, and HMI systems - Industrial Machine Vision Systems Evaluate and specify hardware and software components such as robots, grippers, load cells, motion controllers, sensors, vision systems and lasers to complete a variety of required tasks Work quickly and diligently to troubleshot and solve machine programming challenges throughout the project lifecycle Manage assigned projects to maintain on-time and on-budget machine deliveries Assist Mechanical Engineering team with development and cross-over automation technologies, including robotics, pneumatics, servo motion systems and vision systems Support machine building process from assembly, de-bug and acceptance testing and through potential on-site customer installations and start-up support and customer training.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Engineering related field required.
5
years' experience in Allen Bradley PLC's, HMI's, Servo control, electrical design, or industrial machine vision systems.
Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, LabView, MatLab, microcontrollers or robotic programming a plus.
Strong decision making and communication skills.
